The cake:
-226g medjoul dates chopped roughly
-284ml boiling milk
-1 tsp baking soda
-7 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
-100g brown sugar
-2 large eggs room temp
-1tsp vanilla extract
-170g all purpose flour
-1tsp baking powder
Toffee sauce:
-78.8g unsalted butter
-236ml double cream
-150g brown sugar
-pinch of salt
-1tsp vanilla extract
