Thai Toyota Celica owners joined up with the monthly “Retro Rest Area” meet at Muang Thong Thani’s Mali Market to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the iconic Japanese sportscar which was built through seven generations from 1970-2006.
Dozens of Celica owners’ from around Bangkok turned up, their cars covering all the models and sub-variants, although the first and sixth generation models provided the biggest numbers. There was also a raft of customised and tuned versions, such as a Castrol-liveried rally lookalike, a GT-Four kitted Celica with a bespoke “music truck” style arrangement in the boot and a one with a Lamborghini Gallardo mimicking body kit complete with “Blancpain” decals.
