My Friend, Rob Hirtz, did not survive his heart surgery, but his GoFundMe campaign remains up in order to help his wife with the cost of his final expenses. Any contribution would be appreciated. RIP Rob.

I'm sure everyone is dying to know what I'm up to on this week leading up to the 4th of July. Wednesday we went up the road to "Live at the Falcon" to see, ex-Journey drummer, Steve Smith's band "Vital Information". They were great and we ran into Steve on our way into the club... he was super nice. Yesterday we went to see James Taylor at Bethel Woods. He sounded great but was struggling a bit with the remnants of a cold and laryngitis which forced him to cancel a couple of shows last week. He's a trooper though! Lynn gave me the day off today, but tomorrow we go back to Bethel Woods to see Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. It's gonna be a wing-ding. Can't wait to get back to work on Monday.
"My Brave Face" by Paul McCartney off of his "Flowers in the Dirt" album which was released in 1989 and featured Paul on bass... among other things. This song was co-written with Elvis Costello and produced by Mitchell Froom (Suzanne Vega's ex-husband).
Though this song did not demand a 5 string, I'm playing the 2006-ish Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray 5 that has an EMG P-style p/u (in a MusicMan housing) and an EMG BTC preamp with both micro-switches set to the "On" position.
