Every morning, as always, the sound of birds wakes us up.
We get out of bed together, make sunny-side-up eggs with our own hens’ eggs, and the smell of local butter fills the house.We get the kids ready with excitement and love—clean clothes, neatly packed school bags—then drive them to school in the city in our own car. It’s a one-hour drive from our village to town.For lunch, I prepared sour chicken kebab and sour beef kebab:
fresh garden herbs, freshly ground walnuts, homemade pomegranate paste, wild green plums, hand-pounded local spices…
I put everything together in a clay pot and let it slowly simmer over a wood fire until it settled perfectly.
The tangy, spicy aroma mixed with the fragrance of local rice cooking in a clay pot filled the whole village.The kids came back from school and ran straight into my arms—
sun-kissed faces and mischievous smiles, not a trace of phones or internet.
In the lush green yard, they ran around, played, and their laughter echoed all the way down the lane.We spread the sofré (tablecloth) on the table under the blue village sky:
steaming hot kebabs, golden smoky rice, homemade yogurt, fresh vegetable
We sat together in a circle, a cool breeze blowing, the birds still singing…Right here, in the middle of this simplicity, this is our real paradise
