The Old Petauke Road is an adventurous way to reach South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. It’s not a regular road – it’s an off-road track with rough sections, sometimes steep climbs, and challenging riverbeds.
We tackled this route with our MAN HX60 expedition truck, weighing in at 12 tons. The track offering a mix of beautiful wilderness, remote villages, and fun off-road driving.
If you’re planning this route, be prepared: parts of the road can be tough if you not used to it, for experience drivers it no problem. And in the rainy season it can be challenging. But the reward is an unforgettable journey into one of Africa’s wildest national parks.
