Tracy Jon Sargeant BRAVO Presentation (Highlights)

For several years now, the CVB has awarded 10 of the best and brightest in our community with a BRAVO award. These awards acknowledge individuals who are making our entire community a better place to live, work, and visit. Thanks to a generous sponsorship from MidWestOne Bank, each BRAVO Award recipient is awarded $250 to direct to a non-profit of their choice.

Tracy Jon Sergeant is a security engineer for Check Point Software Technologies. He is also the founder and Executive Director of the Multicultural Development Center of Iowa. He founded MDC Iowa in 2017 to address the inequities in STEM and recently expanded to include a BIPOC Business Accelerator and Mentoring program. In 2021, Tracy Jon co-founded Re-Connect to establish a collaborative group, which combines the efforts of likeminded racial equity-focused organizations in Johnson County.

Tracy also serves on the board of directors for the Council for International Visitors to Iowa Cities, a nonprofit organization that coordinates people-to-people exchanges between international visitors and residents to the Iowa City area. He also sits on the Board of the Iowa City Fab Lab, a non-profit technical prototyping space for innovation and invention based on MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms educational outreach program.
