Following the violent June 5th, 2009 thunderstorm that produced exceptionally heavy rainfall and flooding over Miami Beach, another severe thunderstorm moved across the downtown Miami area on Saturday, June 6th... producing a small area of notable rotation (within a broader circulation), some very low and rapidly developing scud, and a brief period of torrential rain, followed by a beautifully vivid supernumerary double rainbow.
I am frequently asked: 1. Whether this footage/rainbow are real... and 2. What camera/equipment the footage was shot on. In response to the first question, yes... everything I shoot in all of my videos is real, including the rainbow in this clip. For the second question, this footage was shot on a Sony HDR-FX1000 paired with a Hoya Pro-Digital polarizing filter on the lens.
