Our Monthly Budget in Mexico! (Merida + Valladolid, Yucatan) Rent | Transportation | Food | + More!

Since last December we've been living in Mexico! We've spent the majority of our time living in the state of Yucatan. Both in the center, in a small city called Valladolid, and in the biggest city in the state, Mérida.
We wanted to break down EXACTLY how much our living expenses were for one month in Valladolid and one month in Merida. We used receipts and bank records to find exact info and averages. Hopefully, anyone thinking of moving to Mexico finds it helpful!

We only cover living expenses that are relevant to everyone and left out optional things like tourist attractions and excursions. Check out our 'What Things Cost in Mexico' video for more specifics on individual items.

In this video, we covered rent and utilities, as well as tips on locating apartments and criteria you should look for. We also covered what a few other people are spending with different budgets than our own. We covered trash pickup, water, and utilities. We also show some brief apartment tours, you'll find some more of that in our 'What Things Cost Video' as well.

Other expenses we went over are groceries, transportation, and (debatably optional) eating out and 'drinking' out. ;)

We've included lots of other tips and info that we think you'll find helpful if you're already living in Mexico or planning to move here as an ex-pat, immigrant, migrant, digital nomad, etc.
