Creative ways to wear a piece of clothing

The initial brief started from sustainability. Because we realized that people are buying more and more and we should reduce this speed with which they buy and throw away things. It is a waste that happens globally and for that we did an exercise to make the world aware that actually the solution to new clothes is not about buying new clothes, but about using the ones we already have in very creative ways.

That was the first stage. That was my thought at the beginning, to see from the clothes I already have in the closet if I can use something, and in particular I bought a pair of pants that don't have a special cut, don't have a pattern, don't have anything complicated, they're plain in one color - to draw more attention to the new pieces of clothing that exist. So the first step was sustainability. The second was the challenge of how many ways I can imagine to make the creation.

I mean, in this page or in this board, I showed 9 examples, but I also made other boards and we will show them further, where I realized that I can make 30 other clothing items from a blouse. This was the second step where I saw the multitude of variations that can result from a simple exercise.

The next step was to name these pieces. What is happening is that worldwide for 100 years there is no innovation in the product and I am very interested to solve this. At the beginning of the 20th century Coco Chanel came up with the idea that men's clothes can also become clothes worn by women and we can take elements and items from men's clothing. In the same way, today, through all the trends and through all the materials I have read, I feel the need for a new approach in terms of new pieces of clothing. I mean, why should I wear only a blouse, pants, skirt, when you can wear the pants-sleeves, belt-blouse, bra-panties. I did a creative exercise in which I used Romanian-English, Latin and Greek words and mixed these four languages. For example: see the Humero-belt, blouse-hoodie-skirt, shoulder-hip-femur piece.

And we can invent these names also on the spot, during the exam. The next stage was to ask myself if it is an exercise that can be applied to all pieces of clothing or just by chance I found a good piece, the pants, which gave me a lot of opportunities for creativity.

Well, I also got a scarf and a hoodie, and a skirt, and so on, and I saw that they can really be extended in the same manner. Then further considering that we know that a capsule collection contains between 24 and 36 pieces that I can wear by combining them to get over 120 different outfits I applied these principles from the capsule collection rules and reduced the margin or average of 24 or 36 pieces to just 6 pieces from which I made 120 other outfits.
