Tarte Holiday 2024 Swatches | Tarte Golden Era Eyeshadow Set & Stay Golden Cheek Set

Here are swatches of the 2 items from the Tarte Holiday 2024 collection that I was personally interested in. The trio of palettes are one complete product and the 5 cheek products are a separate complete product. Neither one of these is particularly cheap but both seemed to offer a decent value for the price IF the quality of what’s inside turned out to be good. I can only give you a mini review with the limited use I’ve gotten out of them so far but here’s what I’ve noticed…

[TLDR: I’m not disappointed I bought them. I think the value is there and they’d make a fine addition to your own collection or used as gifts.]

PALETTES: The mattes in these are pigmented and blend fine but I have used mattes that blend easier than these. Those that are brand new to eyeshadow may have a bit of a learning curve but I think the quality is nice. Definitely not duds. The shimmers come in a couple different finishes. There are some metallics and satins with fine shimmer and some sparkly/flakier type shimmers. The sparkly ones had a lot of kickup in the pan during swatching. The ones you see in the closeup swatches that look more textured and almost lifted on my arm are those. They apply to the lid well, though, with some noticeable fallout but nothing so crazy that it’d deter me from using them. They all have good color payoff on the eye. Call me crazy but I feel like I can smell a hint of fragrance in the eyeshadows. It’s really hard to pick up on but smells floral to me.

CHEEK SET: I got the "Pinks and Corals" set. The blushes are all matte with no shimmer in them at all and have somewhat of a drier, firmer feel to the touch but do not feel “dusty”. They required a bit more layering to swatch than I expected but picked up on a brush much easier than they did on my finger. My brush caused kickup in these pans as well and it makes me think the imprinted pattern that was pressed into the powder is possibly contributing to that. They applied to the cheek with good color payoff right away but I did have to be careful to tap any of that excess kickup off the brush to try and get an even application on the cheek. Blending seemed easy enough and the color looked even on the skin. The highlight is quite nice. It has lots of tiny little sparkles so the finish lies somewhere between a smooth sheen and a sparklier type of highlight. If I layer it on a bit more heavily and buff it into the skin it does give me that “wet” look to the cheek. None of the cheek products seem to have a fragrance or scent to me.
