This is a playthrough using Baek Doo San in the Arcade version of Tekken 2 version A. Read on below for more information...
Baek is the personal sub-boss for Law or Wang in the game, depending on who is set as the default character between Baek and Jun, respectively. If Jun is set as the default character then Baek becomes a hidden playable character through the use of a secret command/code, shown below.
===== HOW TO SELECT BAEK =====
This is for when Jun Kazama is set as the default character.
On the character select screen, do and press the following input commands:
Highlight Law, Start, Down, Start, Start, Down, Up
If you've done it correctly, Baek will be selected.
===== ABOUT BAEK =====
Baek is Tekken's original dedicated Taekwondo fighter, and back at the time of the game's release, his appearance in Tekken 2 amazed gamers with his fluid kicking style and ease of use. Along with the likes of Eddy, Hwoarang, Maxi (Soul Calibur), etc., he is one of those fighting game characters that newbies can pick up, button mash a bit and make them feel like they're good at the game.
===== GAMEPLAY =====
As Tekken 2 is his debut game, he doesn't have a prequel counterpart to compare to. He is great with the kick combo strings, but a lot of them involve high kicks and the CPU opponents KNOW to duck and avoid them. Be wise and don't overdo it if you want to be successful with Baek. =)
===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / TRIVIA =====
---- In the Arcade versions of the game, in the operator options screen, there is an option to set either Jun or Baek as the default character. If you set it to Jun, she would appear on the utmost left side of the character select screen. If you set it to Baek then he would appear on the utmost left side of the character select screen. The reason for this option is to perhaps "cater" to the country of Korea (Baek is South Korean) and their fans of the game.
---- If the game is set with Jun as the default character, then his Stage 8 personal boss is Marshall Law, and vice-versa.
---- If the game is set with Baek as the default character, then his Stage 8 personal boss is Wang, and vice-versa.
---- As a new character in Tekken 2, he gets his own unique music theme even though he can appear as an unlockable sub-boss. The same applies to Jun.
---- In the PS1 version of Tekken 2, Jun is the default character which means that Baek is an unlockable sub-boss. His stage background is the only one of the personal sub-boss backgrounds in the game to not re-use a Tekken 1 BGM theme. This means that the Venezia theme from Tekken 1 is not used in that version of the game as a result.
===== ABOUT ARCADE TEKKEN 2 Ver.A =====
This is a vast improvement on the prequel as it is far more refined and fleshed out in all aspects. All the personal sub-bosses (besides male Kunimitsu) return and all them are playable through the use of hidden input commands on the character select screen. Every character in the game has their own stage background as well.
Interestingly, it should also be mentioned that in the Arcade versions of Tekken 2, there is a setting in the options/operator screen that allows you to set either Baek or Jun as the regular character on the character select screen.
