Clapham - Group of mostly women and children being directed for the camera, they walk towards camera as women at front plays 'The Red Flag'. on an accordian. The woman candidate (possibly Miss Browning) stands on chair and addresses about getting women voting in the election. Lady Simon talking to camera says: "I want every one of you to go to the polls and register your vote. The ablest men of all parties agree that in this critical time the only way to save the homes of the peopple is to support the National Cadidate in the National Government. It does not matter what party they belong to, for the most trusted leaders of all parties are working together to help the National Government to save the people of Britain from disaster. I appeal especially to the women. Women are the housekeepers of the family and the guardians of the home. Every housekeeper knows that if the home is extravagant and spendthrift it loses the confidence of its neighbours and cannot obtain credit at the shops. Britain is a big family and the Socialist Government has been so extravagant that other nations have lost confidence in us and we are in terrible danger that the pound will cease to buy what we need. Shillings and pence are bread and butter and if money loses its value prices will rise and home sin britain will be faced with starvation. You can prevent this by voting for the National Candidate." Isabel MacDonald stands in car and addresses a group in her father's constituancy. A Conservative candidate addresses crowd about bankers and against nationalising banks.
