Fully appreciation to new Samruddhi Express Highway for making our journey easy, convenient, quick and comfortable with good roads and simple tireless driving. Connecting well the 3 major cities of Maharashtra, this highway now also has resting points at many spots.
We drove our Scorpio N Diesel 4x4 Automatic SUV from Nagpur in January and reached Pune via Shirdi route. Then we drove it from Pune to Mumbai via Pune-Mumbai Expressway. Finally we came back from Mumbai to Nagpur via Samruddhi Express Highway. In January 2025, Mumbai’s starting point for Samruddhi Highway was not from Thane/Bhivandi, it was from Igatpuri as the final section was not ready yet. It took us only 11 hours from Mumbai to Nagpur even then.
Driving through Kasara Ghats was fun, Samruddhi Highway added more comfort to the drive but I often felt slightly sleepy mid way due to boredom on the road & hence took many breaks for safety purposes.
