Tandberg 3014 Cassette Deck Brief Summary 2025 - 8K

I've owned both a Tandberg 3014 and also a 3014A deck. I never used the 3014 before I sold it, but kept the 3014A deck for 14 years. I had the deck rebuilt by Nick Antonescu of New York who was the Tandberg tech for North America back in the day. He has since retired. I sold the 3014A deck a few years ago due to financial reasons, and it was after that I began selling off my really good system. In the last year an audio friend I know, lent me his copy of the 3014 deck, for me to use for a time period. It reminded me on how much I missed this deck and how good a deck it was. I made up this short video talking a little bit about this deck, while showing its fast transport. It really was and still is the best cassette deck I've ever heard. Its a finicky deck with the transport, but the sound quality to me is unmatched. I've owned many top of the line cassette decks from the heyday of these pieces, and this Tandberg was still my favorite. This deck gives reel to reel a run for its money and shows how good cassettes can actually sound with the right deck. The A deck is slightly refined, but also hard to find today. This video showcases the regular 3014 deck. This is not an indepth review of the deck, but just some notes about the deck I know since having used this deck for over a decade. So no thumbs downs please.
