If you're playing on PC, change the "ram" button to "Left Shift" and press it for a fraction of a second on every corner, tapping the direction button and not holding the acceleration button. Once you stabilize the vehicle, accelerate like crazy. It's also recommended to slow down a notch before corners, these old cars sure love to spin :)
If you are about to hit an enemy vehicle, either from behind or from the side, press the "ram" button to take your opponents out.
