5 DIY Games To Keep Your Kids Learning

To get children excited about learning, we need to make it fun! Here are five simple brain teasers and games you can make at home for your children.⠀

⭕️ Use clear lids and coloured paper to make a brainteaser to play using logic and spatial awareness. First, glue different shapes each different colour to every lid. Then stack a few lids at the time creating unique shapes combinations. Make cards with these combinations, and you are ready to go!⠀

⭕️ Cut out three arrows and attach them to a paper plate with paper fasteners. Create cards drawing arrows pointing in different directions. Give the game to your children, and they would need to match directions of arrows on the paper plate to the ones on the cards by rotating arrows. For older children, you can replace arrows on the cards with directions: north, east, south, and west.⠀

⭕️ Cotton buds could be used to create brainteasers too. Colour each side with a different colour and create cards showing cotton buds, forming a unique shape. Children will need to find matching cotton buds to make a shape on a card matching all the colours at the same time.⠀

⭕️ Do you have plenty of empty boxes? It is time to make a fun toy from them. Get five identical squares and cut out four small squares from one of them. Cut out identical small squares in the same location on the next cardboard pieces but reduce the number of holes by one every time. Layer cardboard pieces together, glueing small squares on top of each other. Don't forget to colour the toy with markers!⠀

⭕️ Cut out colourful fish from paper and attach a paperclip where the mouth is. Use a marker to draw numbers on each fish. Make a fishing rod with a magnet and start fishing out fish in numeric order.⠀
