Robotic blasting and painting; precise, sustainable and safe | Damen

Following a successful trial, our Dunkerque repair yard has taken delivery of five AMBPR Autonomous Mobile Blast & Paint Robots to perform hull renovation works including washing, blasting and painting. Controlled remotely, the robots allow operators to place themselves at a safe distance from any work taking place. At the same time, the precision of the system ensures an optimally efficient and high quality result.

The robots are good news for the environment, too, with water used for washing and blasting cleaned and reused, and paint fumes prevented from escaping into the atmosphere. The hybrid powered robots are also prepared for conversion to full electric, zero emission operations in the future.
