I like to use my experienced dogs when I am trying to help a young dog get to the next level.  Blanco has the first two building blocks of this down/stay sign, but he has not been consistent wirh the stay part.  We are starting this session with the 3 dogs, each one on their own mat.  I like using door mats because they are rubber backed no slip and the size of my dog in a down.  At :45 I am asking all 3 for a "sit".  I want to get them on their individual mats.  Im giving Blanco and Red my "AHH!" Sound of displeasure when they step out of the sit.  They all know what I want and Blanco is looking at the others for validation.  At 1:20 I am getting ready to ask for the down.  I got a nice down from Redmond and Boerne, but Blanco put my circulatory system to the test.  I transition to the floor so I can wait him out and not pass out.  At 1:40 Blanco gave me a really nice down!  I even got a 10 second stay!  Super happy with today's progress, the rest of this training session will be getting Blanco familiar with my correct down hand sign. He is understanding my signs, that is great, that is a wrap!
