Suspect Calls 911 Mid-Standoff With SWAT

This bodycam and dashcam footage comes from the Fort Worth Police Department and Lake Worth Police Department following a Critical Police Incident on January 30, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.

The suspect, 35-year-old Nicholas Sides, fled a traffic stop, led officers on two pursuits, crashed multiple times, and opened fire on police. During the hours-long standoff at his residence, Sides set off fireworks inside the home, held a gun to his head, and even called 911 while surrounded by SWAT.

When negotiations failed, Fort Worth SWAT deployed less-lethal rounds in an attempt to disarm him. Sides then fired at officers again, and a SWAT officer returned fire, striking him in the torso. Sides was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
