1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT. Fitted with a Gen 2 5.0-liter Coyote V8 & a 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission. The truck was disassembled & taken down to bare metal before being refinished in factory candyapple red with a black removable hardtop. It rides on a lifted BDS suspension with dual front shocks & 15″ ProComp wheels mounted over hydro boost assisted front discs & rear discs. The interior was refreshed & fitted with a Vintage Air climate control system, Dakota digital replacement gauges, new carpet, reupholstered seats, a RetroSound stereo unit, AudioFrog Speakers, JL Audio Sub, & Kenwood Amp. Additional equipment includes a PBH Performance accessory drive, PBH Performance ECM, a Champion aluminum radiator, trans cooler w/ fan, RedHead steering gearbox, a dual exhaust system, Hella Fog Lamps, factory cactus smasher push bar, factory roll cage, & new warn manual locking front hubs.
During the restoration, the body was removed from the frame and both media blasted, the frame is painted in epoxy semi gloss black, the truck was repainted candyapple red, & new Chromatic decals were applied. Additional equipment includes matte black bumpers, a drop-down tailgate, factory cactus smasher push bar, factory foll bar & a black removable hardtop.
The 15" ProComp wheels are mounted with 33×12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires. The truck is equipped with a Wilwood master brake cylinder, a Hydratech Hydroboost system, front & rear disc brakes, a BDS 4″ suspension lift, dual front shocks, front & rear sway bars and manually locking warn front hubs.
The front bucket seats & rear bench are trimmed in red vinyl with patterned cloth inserts. Appointments include a Vintage Air climate control system, a RetroSound stereo head unit, AudioFrog Speakers, JL Audio Sub, Kenwood Amp, aftermarket pedal covers & red replacement carpeting.
The factory steering wheel sits on a tilt column & fronts replacement Dakota instrumentation, which includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, & supplementary gauges. Manual shift rocker switch mounted beside driver's seat & console.
The Gen 2 5.0 lliter Coyote V8 was installed during the build & is fitted with a PBH Performance accessory drive system, PBH Performance ECM/Harness and a Champion aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, trans cooler with electric fan, RedHead steering gearbox.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Custom driveshafts were made to fit the desired length. The truck is equipped with a dual exhaust system. Bedliner material has been applied to the underside of the body and inside floor pan.
