When I did not get any spark or fuel to my V6 262 Chevy engine I replaced the fuel pump then the coil. When it still did not start I replaced the Ignition control module and it started right away. Engine performance was off and on lagging and eventually completely died. In this case the module on the back of the distributor fixed it. Rock Auto had a good one for 16.77 and 24.39 with shipping and tax. It took 4 days to get two hours to install and required a 5.5 mm socket for the cap and module. This can happen to GM 88 thru 95 and some 96 models
