Vinland Saga AMV about Thorfinn's drift into madness after the death of his father sends him on a viking's journey with the killer.

I first ran into this song when I was living in Japan one random day when I was binging Battlestar Galactica (BSG). This was at the very end of Season 2 and that twist made me actually sit up and say "What the actual ****?" The song was also the coolest cover of the original Jimmy Hendrix song that I had ever heard. I am very happy to finally make an AMV with it and warp it to push the Vinland Saga narrative.

If you're new to the series, it can be hard to distinguish the characters since they're all blond and the main character does grow up a bit. The blond kid, Thorfinn, grows up to be a shaggy-haired version of himself. The guy with the goatee is Askeladd, the man who (spoiler sort of) kills Thorfinn's father and takes him into his group of blood-thirsty warriors as a right-hand man, all the while dangling the father-son relationship Thorfinn instinctively wants but never delivers. The series can be summed up as "My name is Thorfinn, son of Thors. You keel my father, prepare to be my weird new dad."

This one took a lot of work to unearth the deeper metaphors and make them digestible, but it has the feel of a fun action ride supported by drama. So enjoy going deep or bopping on a surface level.
