A dam meant to benefit 60 thousand households in the Elliotdale area, in the Eastern Cape, has become a danger to that community. The R70 million Mncwasa Water Supply Scheme was built by the Amathole District Municipality in 2010. When the Mndwaka Dram was constructed, some families were removed from the area, while others were told they were not at risk.
