The Karo (or Kara) tribe is a small, artistic Ethiopian group in the Omo Valley, famous for elaborate body/face painting using ground colors, subsistence farming (sorghum, maize), fishing, and raising livestock (goats, cattle), with traditions including scarification for bravery and unique burial practices (burying dead inside homes for protection).
