In this video we’re reviewing what may be the most exclusive vineyard in the world – Le Montrachet, which is planted with 100% Chardonnay grapes. We look at some of the history and characteristics of the vineyard, and we review some of the ownership structure and producers. We ask what makes this vineyard produce perfect expressions of the Chardonnay grape? To try a Montrachet wine, we chose to open a bottle of 2011 Montrachet made by Marc Colin et Fils. The 2011 Marc Colin Montrachet costs about $1,400 and we question whether any Chardonnay is worth such a price. Our expert sommelier, Stacey Land, helps us taste this brilliant wine. The video includes original footage from the Montrachet vineyard along with some shots and maps which highlight how Montrachet differs from its neighboring Grand Cru
vineyards - Batard Montrachet and Chevalier Montrachet.
