TVB News｜16 August 2024│Ocean Park giant panda Ying Ying gives birth to twins

Seventeen years after giant pandas Ying Ying and Le Le came to Hong Kong, Ying Ying gave birth to a pair of cubs yesterday, on the eve of her 19th birthday. Ying Ying is also now the world's oldest first-time "panda mom."

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung said, Hong Kong will raise the twin cubs without having them sent back to Sichuan.

A veterinarian says that since Hong Kong has no experience raising panda babies, Ocean Park should take extra caution taking care of the cubs. It's understood a mainland animal park has delivered panda-use milk powder overnight to Hong Kong's Ocean Park to ensure the panda babies' survival.
