Dr. G. Anitha Urges Media to Uphold Sensitivity Over Sensationalism

Dr. G. Anitha, Additional PS to the I&PR Minister of Andhra Pradesh, emphasized the critical role of media in maintaining sensitivity, especially concerning women-centric and national issues.
She highlighted the increasing trend of sensationalism in media coverage, which often compromises the integrity of news.
Anitha stressed that the media has a social responsibility to inform rather than inflame public sentiment.
She called for ethical journalism that respects the dignity of individuals and the gravity of national matters.
The misuse of media platforms to chase viewership at the cost of truth is deeply concerning, she noted.
Dr. Anitha urged media houses to exercise discretion and verify facts before publishing sensitive content.
She pointed out that exaggerated headlines and dramatized reporting can mislead the public and cause harm.
True journalism, according to her, must serve the public interest with honesty and balance.
She encouraged media professionals to prioritize authenticity and empathy over hype.
