I challenged myself to complete the 100 heads drawing challenge. The 100 Heads Challenge is probably the most well known art challenge and the most challenging or hardest art challenge on YouTube. The 100 heads challenge consists of drawing 100 heads in 10 days. It's tough to draw one hundred heads and a lot of artists can get burn out if you don't pace yourself. You must set art goals for the challenge so you can keep your eye on the prize. My challenge took a change of direction. I think this counts as failing successfully?

I started the portrait drawing challenge strong and on a positive note. I was passionate to start drawing and painting, I had my art goals set, I had new art mediums to try in my sketchbook, I was ready to experiment and play with paint, pen, pencil and other mediums in my new BIG sketchbook.

But then… As the days went on, I failed. Incomplete. Unfinished. This is a story about artist failure and how I get motivated to move on from it. Sometimes things happen out of our control and that's okay. Sometimes as artists we fail but it is not the end of the world. We can still learn from our failure and set new goals to achieve even greater things.
