Bluebell Railway - Giants of Steam 2016

One of the most popular events in the steam enthusiast calendar is the Bluebell Railway's 'Giants of Steam', and it certainly lived up to the name in 2016! Held over the weekend of the 28th - 30th October, a pair of locomotives would arrive in Sussex. Representing the LNER was the sole surviving B12 No. 8572, which was visiting from its base on the North Norfolk Railway. Meanwhile, LMS 8F No. 48624 would make the trip to Southern England from the Great Central Railway, with the 2-8-0 showcasing an LMS heavy freight design. Incidentally, the 8F was a late replacement for BR Standard 7 No. 70013 'Oliver Cromwell', which was ruled out for the event due to ongoing repairs.

Joining the visitors were a trio of the Bluebell Railway's larger resident engines, in the shape of BR Standard 5MT No. 73082 'Camelot', SR Q Class No. 30541 and SR S15 No. 847.
