This video was developed by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society to outline all of the essential steps for applying guideline-directed medical therapy in patients with HFrEF. This video presents the CCS HF Guideline therapeutic treatment algorithm in three main steps.
Most patients with HF in Canada are managed by a primary care physician. It is therefore important for primary care physicians to apply an evidence-based approach to the management of patients with symptoms of HF and a reduced ejection fraction.
Applying an evidence-based therapeutic approach to patients with HFrEF has been shown to improve survival and outcomes for patients, including fewer symptoms and hospitalizations and better functional capacity and quality of life.
