Some new features added to CTAn in 2011 include a volume rendering tool (as used in CTVox), the new image-format ROI allowing import from files of binary image based ROI masks, Otsu single and multi-level thresholding, and the unsharp mask (image sharpening) added to the filtering plug-in (previously called "smoothing").
