You think you know the Moonlight Sonata… but you don’t.
You only know the first movement, the one that went viral and honestly, it’s the least interesting part.
Let me show you the other two.
[Quick reminder: a sonata is one piece split into contrasting movements (usually three)]
So: movement one: he’s heartbroken, losing his hearing, depressed, no idea what the future looks like.
Let’s talk about the second movement. That’s the breakup nostalgia.
You’re replaying the good moments, the sweet memories… there’s even a little bit of flirting in there.
It’s that ‘wow, we really had something’ feeling.
And then the third movement - that’s pure rage.
That’s the "you know what, I’m done, I’m better than this, I’m moving on" moment.
Honestly, it’s my favorite. It’s the perfect movement to just let everything out.
So next time you think of the Moonlight Sonata, don’t stop at the sad first movement.
The real story is in all three
