Elements versus Elephants, Game 1 of the three-game series, and it wasn’t close from the start. Mira Araki dominated with eight innings of one-hit ball and an incredible 20 strikeouts. Dan Quisenberry handled the ninth and allowed a solo home run, but the game was already out of reach. The Elephants burned through six pitchers, including their setup man Weiss, who came in with orange stamina and surrendered 21 runs. The Elements exploded for 34 hits, 15 home runs, and 30 total runs in a massive blowout. A wild and entertaining matchup from start to finish.
