Morvigor - De Spiegel (full ep, 2024)

Today I am honoured to present an advance stream of a co-release between Onism and Vita Detestabilis Records, ahead of its official release on the 26th.

De Spiegel, the new EP from Morvigor - a Dutch band who have been patiently brewing these two long-form pieces of existential unorthodox blackened metal since their previous release in 2017.

Post-black metal that explores a mix of styles uncovered with a seamlessly natural inquisitiveness, and a sense of urgent momentum that locks every passage together into a cohesively intense experience.

Clean and harsh lyrics convey cryptic lyrics that deal with absurdism, and philosophy, alienation, curiosity, anxiety and wonder, all of which are mirrored and transposed to the music, which is equally thoughtful, explosive and experimental in its form and passage.

I’ve been totally hooked don this for a good couple of weeks. Really top tier inventive metal.

The EP is released in full on CD, vinyl, tape and digital formats on Monday 26 February.
