Issued 1924 – Canadian release
This is an instrumental fox trot variation of an extremely popular Roaring 20’s tune, originally made for piano and voice. A foxtrot is a 4/4 time dance tune with a smooth, even rhythm.
The Columbia Phonograph Company set up a branch in Canada in 1904 for distribution and manufacture of records for the Canadian market. The branch was active until 1931, when the Great Depression caused it to go bankrupt. The red white and blue banner on this label was a special trademark used by the Canadian branch from 1922-1924.
