Vascular surgeons are currently traveling to rural areas to perform ultrasound imaging of venous and arterial systems. A robotic system is being developed to automate this process, improving efficiency and reducing time spent on screenings. The robot can scan the abdomen to measure the aorta, the neck to analyze blood flow in the carotid and jugular, and the leg to detect deep vein thrombosis. It combines robotics and AI to control the ultrasound probe with precision, ensuring high-quality imaging. The KUKA LBR Med robot is central to the system, offering medical certification and adaptability for clinical use.
