Keyesville Recreation Area - California
Me and Maple 🐾 totally and completely love the landscape of Kern County, California. and I really liked camping in this recreation area. The local law enforcement is active here, which I appreciate. They check license plates and make sure you don't stay over 14 days. There are a few dumpsters, toilets and lots of OHV trails. A few folks were panning for gold in the streams. And there are lots of free range cows! I stayed well away from them when walking Maple because I don't know a thing about cow behavior. lol
There are lots of tiny flowers here, cacti, evergreen and deciduous trees. I saw ground squirrels, rabbits and heard a western screeching owl. I did not see any stray dogs.
