A performance of MAGMA Chamber Choir from the MAGMA & Boğaziçi Jazz Choir Family 2019 New Year's Concert with 4 choirs, 250 singers and many guests in CRR Concert Hall, Istanbul.


MAGMA Chamber Choir Artistic Director & Conductor: Masis Aram Gözbek Assistant Conductor: Mert Can Dursun Established in March 2017, from the members of MAGMA Mixed Choir, by conductor Masis Aram Gözbek under the roof of the “World Champion” Boğaziçi Jazz Choir that has been recognized as a pioneer in the widespread use of chorus cultures in Turkey with its numerous, successful and innovative projects. The choir, which emerged as an important step towards the further development of choral music awareness and the common value of polyphony in our country, and most of whose members gained their first choir experiment and choral music base in MAGMA, performed a broad repertoire consisting of pieces with a wide range from traditional folk song arrangements to contemporary pieces, with its team of around 35 adults, from different universities and occupational groups in its first 1,5 seasons. The choir also made concerts and participated in national festivals, in the concept of their project, Anatolian Songs, which launched in the season 2018-2019. MAGMA Chamber Choir, who also took the first step of Voice of Cultures, the project that aims to gather different colors of Anatolia with the connective power of polyphonic choral music, with these concerts, continues their preparations excitedly to perform in concerts as a part of the project and to support choirs established for this project.
