South Charleston is a village in Clark County, Ohio. South Charleston was laid out in 1815. The village's history is so rich, walking the town you can see the beautiful homes and buildings. The village's history is also evident in its architecture. The village Town Hall and Opera House, built in 1878 has long been the center of the community. South Charleston historic district has been placed on the Nation Register of Historic Places in 1978. South Charleston's early days saw two railroads, which made it easy to transport both grain and passengers. Today the railroad continues to play an important role in the community, 326 miles Ohio to Erie Trail for bike and hike. I found South Charleston quit interesting with the architecture of the buildings and the homes.
