Esslingen walk | Exploring the Castle Square and Old Town

A walking tour from the Esslingen Castle (Esslinger Burg), down through the vineyards, followed by a quick sightseeing of the main attractions: St. Dionysus Church, the St. Paul Minster, the Main Market Square with all its half-timbered buildings, then a quick stroll through the narrow streets of the Old Town and finally the grand Old City Hall building (Altes Rathaus).
A truly spectacular little city, Esslingen am Neckar is often times left out when talking about recommended places to visit within Baden-Württemberg. We think that's really a shame since there are so many hidden gems spread across the city, all of them in walking distance from one another. To name but a few attractions, there are churches, old, charming buildings, cozy restaurants and bustling bars. To add to that, there is also the option to do a little hike up the hill to the Esslingen Castle. The view up there is certainly worth it!
