Steelhead Trout Candy, Holsinger's Fly Shop

The Steelhead Trout Candy is a smaller version of the original Steelhead Candy. After tying the original a few years ago I tried downsizing it for stream trout and it worked great on stockies. Another reason for making this video was to teach you that the original components aren't always required. I use both Estaz and cactus chenille for my collars depending on what color I want. This size is also great for Steelhead. In the original I Tie it on a Daiichi X510 for a stronger hook because we fish when the king salmon or in the river at the same time as the steelhead and brown trout. The X510 hook will stand up to the salmon. The HFS Jig hooks will stand the steelhead and browns and also work great for the trout in your local streams
