Friday Night Funkin' is an open-source donationware rhythm game released in 2020 as part of the Ludum Dare 47 game jam. It was created by a small team of Newgrounds users: ninjamuffin99 (programmer), PhantomArcade and evilsk8r (artists), and Kawai Sprite (composer). The game follows Boyfriend as he faces off in rhythm battles against various opponents to impress his Girlfriend. Inspired by Flash-era web games, FNF gained rapid popularity for its catchy music, stylized art, and massive modding community.
