In this video, we will work with two sounds in the phonetic alphabet, the flap or tap 't', and the glottal 't' or glottal stop. In summary, the tap 't' takes the sound of a fast 'd', created by the tongue hitting just behind the upper front teeth, and is used when the letter 't' is positioned between two vowels.
On the other hand, the glottal 't' is created in the throat by briefly closing the airway, creating an absence of sound in place of the letter 't'. This sound is used when a 't' comes before a nasal sound, and in contractions.
