Featuring the Liven MegaSynthesis, Texturelab, Elektron Syntakt, and OB-XD oberheim emulation.

A song probably about fostering tension within a romance to create a delicate dance of indulgence and restraint while being infected by a technovirus that mutates flesh into biomechanical computers that connect to a network as part of a dystopian mind control conspiracy created by an cybernetic drug cartel.

Contains elements of early wax trax late 80s early 90s industrial, avante-garde hip hop, jungle/drum and bass and 90s big beat, and a touch of uk garage and black metal influence.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of what's going on:
All instruments were recorded into the Roland Sp404 Mk2 and assembled there into the song. Almost all FM sounds were from the MegaSynthesis groovebox. Breakbeats were chopped up samples from Akihiko Matsumoto's brilliant "fake Amen Breaks" where he recreated the famous breaks using drum machines and modular stuff. Large pads were samples of the Emu Emulator 2 and Fairlight CMI sampled into the Texturelab and hit with granular synthesis and shimmer reverb. The Syntakt parts in the middle are kept obvious so you know it's the Syntakt, with an emphasis on kicks and analog basses. Some pads, basses and solos were from OB-XD, which is my favorite soft synth currently. Some drums are from the Alesis SR 16 samples on the 404. The ending outro is all from the texturlab. The artwork background is a photo I took of a construction sight in Boston hit with a bunch of filters. The framed part is a digital drawing done in ProCreate and hit with filters, posterization, and scanlines.
This song was performed in A Locrian, D Locrian, D minor, and some out of scale stuff in between.
