US President Trump pauses decision to hike 50% tariff on import from European Union till July 09

US Prez Trump on Sunday backed off his decision to speed up 50% tariffs on imports from the European Union. Trump agreed to extend deadline for trade talks until July 9 after the head of EU executive body said the bloc needed more time to "reach a good deal." The President told reporters he would put back move until July, after speaking to European Commission chief Ursula Von der Leyen. In social media posts on Sunday, Von der Leyen welcomed the delay, and said Europe was ready to move fast on talks. Trump also addressed general purpose of tariffs, agreeing with past comments by Treasury Secy Scott Bessent.
