In Touch with Durham County - December 2022

In this month’s episode of "In Touch with Durham County," host Deborah Craig-Ray, General Manager of Strategic Planning and Innovation, welcomes Durham County’s Economic Development Director Andy Miracle and Durham County Chief Emergency Manager Elizabeth Schroeder.

Miracle became Durham County’s Economic Development Officer back in 2018 after a stint in the Budget and Management Services office. He has been at the forefront of the County’s work with helping bring new businesses to our community and was recently promoted to Economic Development Director for the newly created Department of Economic Development. In segment two, Schroeder joins us for the first time since taking over the lead of our Emergency Management Division of the Office of Emergency Services in May. A native of Durham, Schroeder has hit the ground running building relationships in public safety and community partners. She and the EM team are currently working on integrating the entire approach to disaster planning with the City and County governments, with the the mission statement of “to foster a culture of preparedness and community resiliency through coordination and stakeholder collaboration.
