This is the third in this series of walkarounds with Greg from my second visit to The Derby Works. I was hoping the Silver Ghost ute might have found its way to ground level since my first visit but it wasn't to be. But what a staggering sight. And apparently it was quite common for the mega rich farmers of yesteryear to do this conversion once their prized Roller had served its purpose - or most likely gone out of fashion.

Bonus points if you can identify the model my friend owned when we were teenagers. It came as an Austin but that didn't have the picnic tables. Put your thoughts in the comments section.

A few more gems to be found around the place, including one of only four pre war diesel Mercedes Benz that is in the process of being converted back to diesel after having once been converted to petrol. Don't ask me how. A couple of Bentley's first post war cars, including an R-type Bentley, and in the background, a frog eye Sprite once raced by business owner Simon and a 1920s Vauxhall.

Twice weekly visits to classic auto workshops featuring cars from the veteran to RADwood eras & including car restoration, rebuilds, repairs and restomods to anything from Aussie V8s, American muscle cars, Euro exotics, JDM, your coveted everyday runabout and more. If it's built before 1999, there's every chance I'll film it.
