Supernatural Season 1, Episode 16, titled "Shadow," follows Sam and Dean to Chicago where they investigate mysterious murders linked to a Zoroastrian demon called a daeva, orchestrated by the cunning demon Meg (Nicki Aycox). Meg uses shadow spirits to trap the brothers, revealing it's a ploy to lure their father, John, to them, ultimately leading to a tense confrontation where the Winchesters face the demon that killed their mother, forcing them to separate to protect John and fight the growing demonic threat.
