Driving San Francisco Bay Bridge 4K | Sunset Yerba Buena Island to Downtown | USA

At sunset, I drive from Yerba Buena Island in San Francisco Bay, across the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, heading toward downtown San Francisco. Yerba Buena Island sits beneath the Bay Bridge and connects to it through a winding mountain road. Driving along this road offers a view of the beautiful San Francisco Bay coast, while the bridge deck provides a skyline view of downtown San Francisco—an ideal route combining California’s coastal and urban scenery.

The San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, commonly referred to as the Bay Bridge, is a complex of bridges spanning San Francisco Bay in California. As part of Interstate 80 and the direct road between San Francisco and Oakland, it carries about 260,000 vehicles a day on its two decks. It includes one of the longest bridge spans in the United States.

The bridge consists of two crossings, east and west of Yerba Buena Island, a natural mid-bay outcropping inside San Francisco city limits. The western crossing between Yerba Buena and downtown San Francisco has two complete suspension spans connected at a center anchorage.

Yerba Buena Island (Spanish: Isla Yerba Buena) sits in San Francisco Bay within the borders of the City and County of San Francisco. The Yerba Buena Tunnel runs through its center and connects the western and eastern spans of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, linking the city with Oakland, California. Treasure Island is connected by a causeway to Yerba Buena Island.
