About the Ragam:
Dharmavati is a rāgam in Carnatic music (musical scale of South Indian classical music). It is the 59th Melakarta rāgam in the 72 melakarta rāgam system of Carnatic music. It is called Dhaamavati in Muthuswami Dikshitar school of Carnatic music. Madhuvanti is the nearest Hindustani music scale to Dharmavati.
It is the 5th rāgam in the 10th chakra Disi. The mnemonic name is Disi-Ma. The mnemonic phrase is sa ri gi mi pa dhi nu. Its ārohaṇa-avarohaṇa structure (ascending and descending scale) is as follows:

ārohaṇa: S R₂ G₂ M₂ P D₂ N₃ Ṡ
avarohaṇa: Ṡ N₃ D₂ P M₂ G₂ R₂ S

(the notes in this scale are chathusruthi rishabham, sadharana gandharam, prati madhyamam, chathusruthi dhaivatham, kakali nishadham)
As it is a melakarta rāgam, by definition it is a sampoorna rāgam (has all seven notes in ascending and descending scale). It is the prati madhyamam equivalent of Gourimanohari, which is the 23rd melakarta.

About RTP (Ragam-Tanam-Pallavi):
Ragam Tanam Pallavi is a form of singing in Carnatic music which allows the musicians to improvise to a great extent. It is one of the most complete aspects of Indian classical music, demonstrating the entire gamut of talents and the depth of knowledge of the musician. It incorporates raga alapana, tanam, niraval, and kalpanaswara. In more elaborate ragam tanam pallavis, a tani avartanam may follow.

What is Ragamalika?
Navaragamalika (pronounced navarāgamālika) is a composition in Carnatic Music that is composed using a collection of nine ragas. Each verse is set to a different raga. Literally translates to a garland of Ragas. These are delightful compositions, where the various segments are set to different Ragas, with a smooth and melodious flow of music during the transition from one Raga to the next. The choice of Ragas, as well as the order in which they appear in a Ragamalika, are based solely on aesthetic considerations. The main point is that a feeling of abruptness or a gap should be avoided when shifting between Ragas and the flow of music should be very smooth. Also, closely allied Ragas do not generally appear in the same composition. Ideally, consecutive Ragas should possess a distinct melodic character.

About the Occasion:
Lord Athi Varadaraja Perumal deity of Kanchipuram Kanchi a temple town near Chennai in Tamil Nadu in South India famous for Temples and Silk.
Athivaradhar is actually a nine-feet long idol, made out of the divine fig tree, botanically identified as Ficus Racemosa Linn falling under the Moraceae family. According to legend, Goddess Saraswathi had a misunderstanding with her husband Brahma and in a fit of anger took away his divine wand to retrieve which he performed the Aswamedha yagna in the Athi forest (Fig forest), now Kanchipuram. Aided by the Asuras, the demons, Sarawati runs as the Vegavathi river and tries to interrupt the Yagna, when Vishnu emerges from the holy fire as Athivaradhar. Saraswati is pacified and the yagna continues. Viswakarma carves out a body for Athivaradar using a fig tree and He then agrees to stay in Kanchipuram atop the Elephant Hill.
Athivaradar is a wooden idol lying beneath the water which is taken out every forty years for worship.
